Meet the Medicine on Second team

Dr Roger Morris

M.B.B.S (QLD), DCH, FRACGP

Raised and schooled in Toowoomba, Dr Morris studied medicine at the University of Queensland and graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine/Surgery (MBBS) in 1994. He was awarded Fellowship of the College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 1999.

After 12 months as Medical Superintendent of Emerald Hospital in central west Queensland, Dr Morris moved to the Sunshine Coast in 1997. He commenced private practice in Buderim in 1998 and moved his medical practice to Maroochydore in 1999.

SPECIAL INTEREST AREAS

Dr Morris enjoys all aspects of Primary Care Medicine, including child and adolescent health, child/adolescent and adult mental health, asthma and allergic diseases, allergy testing, skin cancer screening and treatment, recreational diving medicals and pre-employment medicals . Dr Morris has an interest in evidence-based medicine  (EBM ) and how digital technology can improve primary health care delivery and outcomes.

HOBBIES AND INTERESTS

Spending time with his family, travelling, bushwalking,  reading, single malt whiskeys. Dr Morris is the drummer of local rock band ‘M7’ ( along with Dr Michael Ryan and friends ) available for pubs, weddings, parties, charity functions, anything …

In line with his particular interest in Child Health, Dr Morris has undertaken extra postgraduate study in Child Health. Dr Morris competed a Certificate in Child Health through Monash University in 2003 and in 2005 he completed a Diploma in Child Health (DCH) through the Westmead Children’s Hospital in Sydney and the University of Sydney.

Dr Morris has a keen interest in philosophy, cognitive science, psychology, consciousness and mind/body interactions in health, anthropology, science fiction, and scientific scepticism.

Dr Morris works Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm and Wednesday 9.00am - 12.30pm

Dr Morris is only taking on new patients for allergy related issues.
